Welcome New Families

Military Families

North East ISD welcomes military families who have been transferred to a local military installation. Any parent or guardian who is an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States, or are part of the reserve armed forces, may establish residence and enroll children in North East ISD.

Simply provide a copy of a military order requiring your transfer to a military installation in or adjacent to the district’s attendance zone. The parent or guardian has up to 90 days of the arrival date specified in the order to provide North East ISD with proof of residence.

Thank you for choosing our community. Our aim is to support you and your children, ease into our community and schools. For your convenience, we have collected here resources that you may find valuable.

S2S Campus Sponsor Campus Military Liaison

Student 2 Student (S2S) is a student-led organization at Vineyard Ranch Elementary. S2S club members and sponsors are passionate about welcoming new students and easing their transition to our campus. We facilitate student-led school tours, lunch friends, recess buddies, and share opportunities to join clubs and leadership groups on our campus. These opportunities help new students and families gain connection to our campus community.

When new families arrive for initial enrollment, they are welcomed and assisted by the Data Processor with general information about the campus and a questionnaire to fill out to help our campus learn more about their child(ren). Relocation services are available to parents, specifically from JB Goodwin Realtors who have partnered with NEISD to support new families. Academic calendars, assessment calendars, lunch menus, bus eligibility information, after school care services, etc. are also available to parents. Students who qualify for a special program or are in need of counseling support can meet with the appropriate staff before their first day of school.

Our Student 2 Student members are leaders on our campus. They take pride in their role as an S2S member. In addition to providing tours to new students, S2S club meets once a month before school and sometimes during lunch to plan and execute various service projects that we lead thoughout the year. This year we helped with the veterans day ceremony, made holiday cards for residents at a nursing home, assisted with guests that were presenting at Career Day, and collected items to donate to our local Animal Shelter. We also help with campus based projects such as Kindness Week and Purple Up Day. New students meet with the counselor regularly to learn about the campus and get to know one another.

The goal of the S2S program at Vineyard Ranch is to create a positive and welcoming environment that helps students in transition feel welcome on our campus.

Campus-Based Military Liaisons serve as the primary point of contact for military-connected students and their families throughout the enrollment and exit process. They are responsible for ensuring a smooth transition as well as providing access to supports and resources throughout the student’s stay in NEISD.
